NEW French classes for Adults
October 2010 to July 2011

Come and learn French in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Valerie
Nicholls is a fully qualified teacher with experience in teaching
adults. Classes are held at various levels enabling you to start as a
beginner, improve or perfect your knowledge of French. There is also a
class for people who wish to learn just enough to get by while on
holiday in France.
All classes are held at Fairkytes Arts centre in Hornchurch and will
start from 4th October until the beginning of July 2011. There will be
no books to buy and no exams to take. Classes are small.

Mondays: 1-2.30pm: French for beginners
Tuesdays: 4-5.30pm: Advanced French conversation
Tuesdays: 6.30-8pm: French for holidays
Thursday: 11.15am-12.45pm: French for holidays

French for Children

Your child will be taught by a French native speaker because you cannot beat authenticity.

Your child's teacher is a qualified teacher giving him/her the benefits of carefully planned lessons.

The course syllabus is tailor-made to suit the children’s needs and ability, so that your child gets the most out of each lesson.

Your child will be taught in a small group of about 10 children to give him/her maximum enjoyment of the lessons.

Valerie Nicholls

Valerie Nicholls graduated from a French University in the late 80s. Her degree covers French, English and Spanish, grammar, linguistics, literature and civilisation.
A few years later she set up Am Stram Gram while studying for a Montessori Diploma which she obtained in 1996. The Montessori approach was to shape her teaching style. In the realisation that the child-centred, multi-sensorial approach of the Montessori philosophy could easily be applied to teaching languages, Valerie started to adapt Montessori principles to her teaching and developed her own teaching method.
Am Stram Gram offers fun and exciting French tuition for 3 to 5 year olds in preschools and nurseries and 5 to 12 year olds in our own Saturday club. We also run after school clubs throughout the school year and we offer French workshops during the Summer.
Valerie also writes articles for leading UK and international parenting and educational magazines.
